We're Moving Now!

Hey.. guess what.. there's progress. Last Tuesday night, the 9th Chris asked me if I got the mail.. I normally always do, however this day I was in a rush to get home and forgot about it. So I went down to the mailbox.. and wouldn't you know it... there was notifications from the state that our background checks had been completed. What does this mean, I wonder.. Does it mean that they are totally complete, or a portion of them are complete?

So, the following Wednesday I call Kathlee at Holt and she says that yes, they are complete.. WOW, I thought.. they said it normally takes 6-8 weeks and they came back in two. NOW WHAT? Pay for our home study and get that scheduled.

Today is our first meeting for our home study.. we'll meet at Holt's Portland office and then next Friday afternoon they will come to our home. I wonder if they will do the white glove test? We're very excited to get rollin'. After the home study is complete, they will send the documents off to the US Government and then we'll be waiting for their approval. This could take up to 3 months, maybe sooner?

Aside from the excitement from our background checks getting approved and our home study being scheduled. We received our dossier packet and have started to work on that as well. We're about halfway complete and hopefully we'll have it all finished with in the next couple weeks or so. Most of it is some what repeat information from the first packet, only it all needs to be notarized.

Now, while all this is going on.. we've started to work on the nursery. We've completed the painting and I'll show you some pictures. It took Chris and I over 3 hours just to tape off the stripes.. I love how it turned out, it's perfect! HUM.. not sure I can figure out how to link up the pictures?
