Can you say fiasco. I just had this gut feeling like something was going to go wrong with immigrations. We received Porter's Certificate of Citizenship the middle of March. I picked it up on a Monday and went directly to the Social Security office on Tuesday to have his name and status changed.
Last Monday I realized that it had been a month since I turned in the paperwork and planned to follow up. I actually received a call from Social Security that morning stating that immigration was unable to close the file because they processed some of the paperwork incorrectly. Immigration instructed SS to tell me to drop by the immigration office in downtown Portland. "Just drop by", very funny. I've had some time to process this, and I find it very stressful and concerning. I can't believe that immigrations didn't contact me to let me know what is wrong and how to fix this.
So, I have an appointment with immigrations in a couple weeks. Back downtown with Porter. After this is fixed, I'll have to refill out the paperwork with SS and go sit in the stinky germ infested waiting room; all while trying to keep Porter entertained.
BBBOOOOO!!! That's what I say. Hopefully this will be straightened out in a few weeks! Fingers crossed.
