Rockin!!

Gram got him a rocking horse.. and he LOVES IT!!

First Boo Boo!

What a Monday for Porter J!  First I pick him up from daycare.. and he fell out on the playground and had a huge goose-egg on his for head along with a scrape on his upper lip and side of his nose.  Then, I take him to his 18mo doctor appointment where I find out that he has an ear infection.  After that he had to get two more immunizations.  Poor kid can't get a break.  I didn't really get any close up pictures of his first fall.  But I did want to document it.  You'll be able to see his for head in some of the next posts.

The Wednesday before he came home from daycare with a 102.00 fever.  He was fine at daycare and then it hit him that afternoon.  By Thursday mid-day he was starting to feel better.  But, now realizing he has an ear infection, the fever could have been related.  For the record... I REALLY don't like it when he's sick.   I know this will happen many more times.. but it really freaked me out.  A healthy Porter is a happy Shannon!

With A Capitol "I"

Can you say fiasco.  I just had this gut feeling like something was going to go wrong with immigrations.  We received Porter's Certificate of Citizenship the middle of March.  I picked it up on a Monday and went directly to the Social Security office on Tuesday to have his name and status changed.

Last Monday I realized that it had been a month since I turned in the paperwork and planned to follow up.  I actually received a call from Social Security that morning stating that immigration was unable to close the file because they processed some of the paperwork incorrectly.  Immigration instructed SS to tell me to drop by the immigration office in downtown Portland.  "Just drop by", very funny.  I've had some time to process this, and I find it very stressful and concerning.  I can't believe that immigrations didn't contact me to let me know what is wrong and how to fix this.

So, I have an appointment with immigrations in a couple weeks.  Back downtown with Porter.  After this is fixed, I'll have to refill out the paperwork with SS and go sit in the stinky germ infested waiting room; all while trying to keep Porter entertained.

BBBOOOOO!!!  That's what I say.  Hopefully this will be straightened out in a few weeks!  Fingers crossed.

Seriously.. He LOVES Water!!

Finally some nice weather and we can get outside to do some gardening.  Our backyard is great for Porter.. he can't really get into too much trouble and I can let him roam.  That's the nice thing about having a small backyard.    After I get done with my planting I freshened up Carter's water dish.  After I'm done with the project it's time to clean up for the day.

I turn around and this is what I see. He was having so much fun, was soaked to the bone, and loving every minute of it!  At first he just splashed in it.. then he would dump it on himself.. he thought that was great until the bowl was empty.  Then he would holler for me to refill it.. so he could dump it again!

I thought this was very cute.. however.. we have several doggie water dishes around the house.. one inside and one in the garage.  I found him splashing, YES splashing in the water dish inside and the one in the garage.. sigh.. he's such a boy!

In this last picture he was distracted from a plane flying over!
