Tonight!
Another first is among us. I heard Porter say "Night Night" for the first time. The simplest thing.. can warm your heart like a hot cup of coco on a blistery winter day. That is the sort of thing that fills your eyes with tears and warms your heart with joy.

More COC Stuff
So, I sent in the certificate of citizenship correction application.. and wouldn't you know it.. there was a portion that needed Porter's signature. Not sure why, since he's a child.. but I filled this out and mailed it back in last week.. AUGH.. I'll sure be glad when I have it back and this part is done.
Here are some pics of him getting into some trouble!

Can you see the smile on his face.. I can!

1st Mother's Day!
It sort of feels like the 2nd Mother's Day I've celebrated because we knew who Porter was last year. However.. nothing compares to being able to kiss those chubby cheeks and hear that sweet belly laugh.
We had a nice quiet brunch at home with my sister and Mom. Chris was in charge of most of the breakfast however I made sweet rolls.. YUM, and my sister brought over some fruit.

Chris took Porter to a pottery paint store the weekend before for my special Mother's Day surprise.
I sort of think the hand print looks like the volleyball named Wilson in the Tom Hanks movie Castaway!
I love it. So sweet.

Back to USCIS!
So, I pretty much figured out that they printed Porter's permanent resident number incorrectly on his certificate of citizenship and that's why they wouldn't close the file. So, basically I had to resubmit forms to have it corrected. I still think it's weird that USCIS didn't send me a letter to explain what was wrong and what to do.
I had to make an appointment on USCIS's website. So, last Tuesday afternoon.. we went back downtown.. waited 45mins, walked up to the gal, explained what happened and she said, "oh.. you filled out the wrong form, you need this form, send it to this address with new passport photos". I'm like REALLY! Drove downtown, waited 45mins, refilled out the N-565 (8 pages) and produced photo copies of all the docs that needed to go with it. All the while, I just needed to fill out a 2 page form and mail it in. This is what I mean by "it would have been great if I got a letter from them explaining what was wrong and what to do". It was a lot of time wasted.. which is my #1 pet peeve!
Anyway.. hopefully in a few weeks, I'll get a new certificate of citizenship and then we can go back to the social security office to get things updated there. Lots of running around.. but it's better to just get it over with and completed. Remember a few months ago, when I said I had a feeling that this was going to be a fiasco.. hum?
Anyway.. here's a picture of the passport photo's we needed to get for Porter's COC.. He really hated the camera guy! But, we had to get them.
