The Finish Line... But, Just The Beginning

The last step.. we received Porter's social security card with the corrected name.  A weight off my shoulders and the last piece of adoption paperwork completed.  What a journey.. but the ride will never be over with the joy and love we feel for our boy.

Movin' On Up!

We had Porter's 2 year doctor appointment this week.  He went from the 7th percentile from a year old to 50th percentile at his 2 year.. that's AWESOME.. He's really only gained about 8lbs since we brought him home.. but he's sprouted up like a weed.  Also, no fluid in his ears, they were clear and looked good.  We're almost out of the woods for ear infections.. probably about 6 more months and then normally they grow out of them.  YEAH

Also, no more binkie and I've slept three nights in a row with out interruption or getting up.. I think in the last year I've only slept the entire way through the night about a dozen times.. so to have three nights in a row not getting up.. EXCELLENT.  I think that with his stuffed nose the binkie might have kept him up because it may have been harder for him to breath?

Finally!

We received our Certificate of Citizenship in the mail on Thursday!  Woo Hoo.. they said it would take till December.. so it was a happy surprise to receive it a couple months early.  Now, back to social security to have his name updated on his social security card.. then FINALLY we're DONE!  What a long road of paper work.. it's been insane.. So happy!

I can't believe over two weeks have gone by since my last post.  I blinked and here it is Sept 18th.  The leaves are starting to turn, there's a crisp in the air.. and college football is in full swing!

The most significant thing to report is that Porter has officially been home a year.  Nope, I can't even believe it.  Unfortunately, we didn't have a big brew-haw for the anniversary.. but we gave him extra kisses, hugs, and love on the day.

We did however, go to a couple football games since I last blogged..

Porter Updates:  He's randomly started to flush the toilets.. not sure why.. he'll just run into the bathroom and pull the lever down.  He's chatting LOTS.. I can't even count how many words, but he's always jabbering about something.  He's pretty much eating whatever.. still not a real fan of fruits and veggies.  He seems to love football, which is kind of weird because football season just started and he hasn't seen much of it.  Loud and fast is how I normally describe him.. he's always busy and there's never a dull moment.  He's awesome.
